A collaboration of Motorola ASTRO site owners running Quantar, STR3000, GTR8000 Standalone and GTR8000 ESS sites. Georedundant cores in Austin and Dallas keep critical voice highly available.

Five zones, one band each

Each zone uses a single band, so you don't need a multiband radio within one area.

Access by request We don't sell airtime. Access is granted request by request, and nonprofits get it free of charge. Request access
CTRS users welcome All Radio IDs and most talkgroups sync from the DVM-based system. WACN roaming from CTRS to TATRS is supported. Roaming from TATRS back to CTRS isn't supported yet (as of 9/28/2026).
Not for life safety TATRS uses the same hardware and protocols as most public safety systems, but it doesn't support life-safety voice or data.
